IWI’s Project in Somalia
IWI Water supply partnership project - better accessibility to clean water, protecting safety for girls, and supporting girls to gain an education
In many impoverished countries, young women and children are sent out to collect water from sources that are often far from their community. Through our contribution to the water and sanitation project in Somalia, communities will be provided with clean water close to home. The time and energy that they save from not having to take this strenuous journey daily, allows young girls to enroll in school and empower their families. It also prevents women from attack and harassment from people as well as wild animals on their way.
